Essex Open success for Trail artists

Huge congratulations to all the Leigh Art Trail artists whose work has been selected for the 61st Essex Open, which begins at Southend’s Beecroft Gallery on Saturday November 22nd.

We’re so proud that printmaker Grace Edkins, still-life artist Julie Parker, the Old Leigh Studios quartet of Richard Baxter, Julie O'Sullivan, Sheila Appleton and Ian Smith, painters Andrew Hall and Claire Hankey, sculptor Wendy Scotland, felt artist Ruth Rotherham, mixed media artist Emma Bell, ceramicist Alison Bournes, textiles artist Juliet Bryson, and photographers Colin Watkins, Bronwyn Oldham and David Abbishaw have been picked.

It’s fantastic to see so many familiar names representing the Trail and Leigh-on-Sea in this important exhibition, which showcases the finest contemporary art from across the county. Please go along and support the show, which runs until February.
